Day Two Recap

Tuesday, November 28th

Today was a mix of ministry and sightseeing.  In the morning we met with the students in Living Hope's farming program for their team building day. We traveled to Cape of Good Hope

We spent the morning worshiping God in song and dance and seeing the amazing beauty of God' creation as we hiked the trails.  The students are from all over South Africa.  It was great to meet them and learn about them. We had a time of devotions with them and then a time of praise (in their language).  It usually turned in to dancing.

Next we hosted Christmas parties in a township called Oceanview.  It was a sobering reminder of the true reason of why Jesus came to earth. This was a party for Living Hope's bible clubs as we had for day one.  While we were here the founders of Living Hope dropped by.  We had the pleasure of meeting them and talking with them.

As we were sereving in Oceanview, I couldn't help but reflect that if Jesus had been born in our time the place he grew up could have been much like Oceanview which is a very poor and crime ridden area. No wonder Jesus loves the little children and gives a grave warning to any one who would harm them.
